I know that Sisters love their wigs and weaves.  That’s all right.  Afterall, you’re beautiful no matter what or how you display your hair.

A few weeks ago, I was talking with some friends at work and they shared with me knowledge about what Sisters are doing to their hair.

I tell ya, the way they broke it down, I can’t see why Sister do  it but as a African American Man, you’re beautiful even without all the lyes you put into your hair.

Take time out to read the article below about what harm those lyes or lies are doing to ya.

=============================================================

Lyes about African American Hair Styles

First ,,,Relaxers are bad for your hair. Just reading the other night I found that when you use a relaxer in your hair which contains lye, that’s the same lye that’s found in Drano. The same advertisement used in un-stopping drains.

Now, I going to assume that you read the article and maybe want to do something about the damage that perms and all the lyes you have been putting into your hair.

Ahhh,, Sisters, you can still look beautiful and you are but if you need to find a way to protect your natural hair and display an new look in the meantime.  Try Wigs…

African American Human Hair Wigs

African America Wigs have really come a long way.  Considering I was talking with a co-worker yesterday and she was telling me about the process of glueing a front lace wigs.  Now what she told me was surprising but things have changed and I guess they will get even better.

Did you know that years ago, the Egyptian Women wore wigs?  I guess it’s been in the African Women’s nature even way back then to make sure her hair is tight.

African American human hair wigs now are so real looking because they are, real hair.  Properly attached you can’t tell the difference.  My c0-worker told me about her cousin on the Westside of Chicago that wears a wig and now her real hair has grown and probably as long as some of the wigs she wears, but she now just like wearing the wigs.  That’s easy to understand sense you can choose from 100’s of different styles and several colors.  All you have to do is have an imagination and let it go to work.

Human hair wigs usually cost a little more than synthetics but you can do all the things you do with your regular hair and treat it the same way.  The up keep is the same as your real hair also.

You can style it, customize, do any thing you want to do with it.  In fact, if you are wanting to get the perm out of your head and maybe need your ends trimmed, human hair wigs could be a great alternative in the mean time.  If you have have enough styles to choose from and colors, you may be able to get one just like your own hair and no one will know.

We’ve found African American Human Hair Wigs at some very reasonable prices.  In fact they offer “FREE Shipping”  at a certain amount.  That can save you time and money at the store.  So, if you’re looking for a African American Human Hair Wigs I do have a Squidoo site that can give you some examples and also offer some funny videos but if you want to go straight to the site and start shopping, click here on African American Wigs.

Bonding Glue and Weaves….

Tamika and Annetta talk about what the effects of bonding glue will have on your hair.

This was taken a few weeks ago.

Annetta has been in the hair styling business for about 15 years, she also is a successful shop owner in Nashville, Tn.

Tamika has been in the hair styling business for about 16 years. She also works in the Nashville, Tn area.

Bonding as you know is a process used when getting a weave done to your hair. As you will notice no one is right or wrong in the answers, it depends on the person’s hair and maintance.

It sounds like it’s important to know your stylist when this process is done.

Reason being that because everyone’s hair is different you want to do what’s best for your hair in this situation or any situation.

How you maintain your hair is the key. Check out more about accessories and products for about African American wigs and weaves

How happy was I to find this,African American Hair Care Recipes..

This made me think of the time I meet a Muslim Brother from Maywood, IL.

This Brother was selling a hair conditioner that he say his family invented, I guess would be the right word or developed.

I was impressed.  I mean it’s not everyday you meet a small business man or family going out there and making it happen.   We could use more of that but let’s keep to the topic.

While browsing online I was able to find a site that gives you actual recipes for making conditioners, rinses, spritzes, shampoos and hair treatments.  This site has a lot of recipes and interesting articles about African American Hair in general.

I just thought about something while writing this article.  My sister-in-law,to whom is a hair stylist and salon owner for more than 16 years, mentioned something to me over the Thanksgiving holiday.  Believe it or not African American Hair is different than others hair, (other’s meaning white people’s and any other than African).  What works for one doesn’t mean it will work for the other.

Beauty shouldn’t be defined by one of the other.  They are both Beautiful in there own right but ours is just different.

So when you read about hair care make sure you’re getting information from an African point of view if you’re of African descent.

Now for that link to the recipes, click on African American Hair Recipes , now to always make life simple for ya, to save even more money and time, have you considered a natural African American Wigs?  I again have a site that offers 0ver 100 different styles and colors of quality wigs at affordable pricing, go to African American Wigs now.

My Short Hair Style…

SHORT HAIR

Hair has always been a woman’s crowning glory. Whether is short, long, curly, straight, natural or with hair added in, we have always been very proud of our hair. It takes a lot of time and can be a major financial expense, to maintain our hair. But we do so proudly.

A new outfit is not as appreciated without the nice “hair do” to accompany the outfit.

My hair is short. I love it short. Short hair is “high maintenance” which constitutes “expense.” Add a perm and color and you have “more expense.” I like to have my hair done weekly. Sometimes I might extend the week to almost 2 weeks, but not often. I love the “just done” look of hair. The sheen and body is very appealing.

I am concerned that too much heat and color will eventually take its toll on my hair, making it thin and brittle. To combat this, I have my hair well conditioned by my hairdresser. I try not to have my hair blow dried, only wrapped, and I use oil for the scalp.

Hair requires maintenance to remain healthy, no matter the length or texture. Even if we are not going to a salon every week or so, we have to ensure the proper attention is being given to our hair. Just like our body needs nourishment to thrive, so do hair.

To ensure that our hair receives the proper nourishment, following are a few pointers:

Condition the hair

To not over brush

Do not apply excessive heat and/or color

If you perm your hair, use a mild perm

Use oil for dryness

If you follow these simple steps, hopefully you will have a healthy head of hair.

Does African American Hair Grow Slow?

First,

This a about an article I read today.

The young lady made a good point. Does African American Hair really grow slow?

After listening to my niece (Tamika, a hairstylist for 16 years in Nashville, Tennessee) and sister-in-law Annetta (a hairstylist and shop owner for over 15 years) I would think the answer to this is No.

Sure, if your hair is processed or you have chemicals in it. Your hair may not grow at the same pace or rate but it seems most would agree that if your hair was in a “Natural” style it tends to grow faster.

African American Hair Growth???

Hello,

Talking with my sister-in-laws over the weekend that are hairstylist with over 31 years total experience.

They both agreed that you can’t grow hair just because you want to if you don’t already have it.

Yeah, that seems simple but there are thousands and maybe more that are buying some kind of miracle products that promises to grow your hair.

If you hair isn’t in a growing mode and you’re not following the advice of a professional, like your stylist, you chances for growing hair is slim.

Plus, everyones hair is different.

That being said be careful and if it sounds too good to believe. Don’t.

I guess that’s one of the reason for Weaves and Wigs …
